Japan Bible Institute Tanzania was conceived by the Holy Spirit in answer to a cry from the harvest fields of the world for materials geared for training the average layman and seminary Minister in Tanzania. The Institute is birthing a vision designed to move laymen from vision to reality. The curriculum takes students beyond teaching to training where participation is required. The participation to which students are challenged is that of knowledge of the truth. Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32).
Bishop Dr. Paul Z. Shemsanga has long realized that, many Gospel Ministers have served in ministerial positions for long periods of time and have accumulated lots of experiential knowledge in their field of work, but do not posses any kind of diploma, degree or at least a certificate which meet the standard set by Worldwide Christian Institutions.
It is for this purpose; Japan Bible Institute came on the Tanzanian scene back in 2008 and became officially incorporated in the constitution of the registered trustees of Victory Gospel Assembly Organization as affiliate Institute in 2010. Since then JBI is overseered by the spiritual leaders Committee of several churches; now International Ministerial Networking Council of Tanzania (IMNCT), who also have provided centres within their church premises for pastors who can’t easily use internet services.
Students with a passion for learning the Word of God from these churches, with a desire to become ministers of the same, have been admitted to the institute. Students need to be at least 35 years upwards. These are normally bishops, pastors, elders, evangelists etc.
Japan Bible Institute Tanzania is not as inclusive as a traditional Bible Institute because it eliminates materials not directly related to spiritual growth and productivity. We are not in competition with the traditional Bible Institute structure but our training is for lay worker and Experienced Ministers who do not have opportunities, educationally and/or financially, for such training.
Japan Bible Institute Tanzania is committed to equip students with creative Bible study skills to enable continued study of Scriptures following basic course training. But the primary focus of Institute training is teaching what Jesus taught to move men from observation to demonstration of the power of God.
